The birth of SANYO Philippines, Inc. (SPI) dates back to 1971 with SANYO Electric Co. Ltd. and SANYO Electric Trading Co. Ltd. as its foreign partners. The original manufacturing plant was located in Quezon City, Metro Manila. SPI’s manufacturing history started with the production of high quality and durable gas stoves. Later, the product lines expanded to include refrigerators, television sets, air conditioners and washing machines. The rapidly growing demand for Sanyo products necessitated the transfer to a larger plant in Taguig, Metro Manila in 1980. SPI continued its manufacturing operations until it shifted to 100% product importation in July 2004.

The shift to 100% product importation marks the “NEW BEGINNING” for SPI. Focused on marketing and sales operations, the “NEW SPI” strives to become NO. 1 HOME APPLIANCE SALES COMPANY in the Philippines. In pursuing its goal, SPI under its new management, has been improving all facets of its business operations to better serve and for better satisfaction of its customers, employees, business partners, shareholders and society.
