Special School for the Gifted
Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) is a private, non-sectarian school in the Philippines that is fast gaining local and international recognition as a world-class academic institution committed to global excellence. Chosen by the Department of Education (Dep Ed) as a “School of the Future” in January 1997, SISC Basic Education is currently accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), based in the United States, and is the only Dep Ed school with this distinction. To add, meeting steep international standards, SISC worked for its ISO certification and became ISO 9001:2000 certified in 2004. Also, the school was recently authorized as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. What Southville International School and Colleges is at present is the result of a challenging journey that started with a quest for quality education on a par with global standards.
Southville International School and Colleges was founded in 1990 as Southville International School (SIS) with the vision of developing excellent learners through effective and innovative educational strategies. Starting out with a simple single-storey building (Elizalde) with the basic facilities required by the then Department of Education, Culture and Sports (DECS), five teachers, and two students, the school was initially hailed as a “Special School for the Gifted.”
